About us
Who are we
Just a dog and their humans who want to keep our beach safe, fun, and open—so we can stop barking about it for at least four more years!
When my humans moved to White Bear Lake three years ago, they didn’t even know our dog beach existed. But after their first summer here, walking past it almost every day, they decided to join in on the fun. That’s when they adopted me, Finnegan, hoping I’d make some furry friends and help them meet our neighbors.
Turns out, I’m not a big fan of crowds (or too many humans). So we don’t hang out at the beach as much as we thought. But on quiet mornings, when it’s just us or a few friends, I get to splash, sniff, and wag my tail by the lake. Those moments with my humans are some of the best parts of living here, and we’d all hate to lose them.
My humans walk past the beach five or six times a week, and while they’ve seen a few misbehaving people, it’s hardly ever the ones at the dog beach. They’ve spotted more loose pups in West Park and White Bear Lake County Park than unsupervised at our beach. And don’t even get me started on the humans who forget to clean up after us—that happens all over Lake Avenue, not just here.
The truth is, the dog beach is just an easy target. Closing it won’t solve anything—it’ll only take away one of the happiest spots for dogs and their humans. Let’s keep our tails wagging and our beach open!
